Soda blasting is a cleaning method used in paint stripping, industrial cleaning, and restoration applications. Soda blasting equipment uses compressed air to entrain and accelerate granular soda (baking soda or sodium bicarbonate) through a blast hose. As the baking soda exits the blast nozzle and impacts the target, it cleans residue from surface without damaging the substrate.
Baking soda is soft (2.5 on Mohs hardness scale) and friable and when soda impacts a surface with high kinetic energy, it breaks in to small pieces and removes the residue without damaging the substrate
Benefits
Soda blast media is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-hazardous, water soluble, FDA approved, biodegradable and environmentally friendly. Soda blasting is economical compared to alternative paint stripping methods and does not scratch glass, damage rubber, or etch metal.
For boat restoration, soda blasting removes paint, antifouling paint, and blisters without damaging the gel coat.
Soda blasting does not damage brick, stucco, or other masonry materials.
Applications
The unique and non-destructive properties of soda blasting are ideal for cleaning, auto paint removal, industrial paint removal, oil removal, grease removal, equipment cleaning, mold remediation, automotive restoration, industrial equipment maintenance, rust removal, graffiti removal, boat hull cleaning, building restoration, masonry restoration, smoke damage and house restoration.
Capabilities
With a range of in-house blasting and mobile blasting capabilities, we are able to clean small parts, large equipment, and large surface areas. For certain applications, we can supply water at the blast nozzle to reduce the dust generated from the soda blast process.
Snow White Services uses efficient equipment, premium soda blast media, quality compressed air, safe operating procedures, and accepted quality standards to clean and restore surfaces.
